Just wanted to make a point about story-writing. This is one of the areas which in general is often less well done in exams than some other topics. This is because some writers ignore the word "story" and just write a letter, an article or a review and therefore lose marks in the area of task achievement. Others go to completely the opposite extreme and think they have to make it into a fairy story or one involving strange beings from outer space or some other kind of fantasy!!!
In actual fact, all that "story" really means is that something actually has to HAPPEN. It needs to be an event or a series of events, but it doesn't have to be fantastic! It needs to move forwards and lead up to an actual climax, and usually involves lots of verbs (usually action verbs) as well as adverbials such as "then," "suddenly," "just when...." etc. That's all that's really needed.
I look forward to reading lots of lovely stories!
