Il gambero

I tried the restaurant “Il gambero” two weeks ago, and I think it is a very good restaurant.
It was a bit little, but very cosy, and there were several ornaments, like pictures on the wall.
There were few waiters, so they were a bit busy, but they were fast; therefore, the little number of waiters was not a problem.
I tried, as a starter, an house special that I appreciated, because it was tasty and not too heavy.
As a matter of fact, the dishes were not too big so that you could really appreciate the food-flavour.
The other dishes were ok. The fish was delicious and of the highest quality, and I think it's the best dish of the restaurant. The price was ok, neither expensive nor cheap. I payed the lunch 35 €.
I reccomend you this restaurant; it is located in Taranto, Tal dei Tali Avenue, n. 56.

  1. Well- written Gregorio -
    - spelling: recommend
    - Grammar: I would strongly recommend going to this restaurant/recommend this restaurant to you -
    recommend most common structure:
    recommend + (that) + subjunctive
    recommend + vb ing form
    recommend sth to someone
The doctor recommended (that) she lose weight. (lose = subjunctive)
    - The doctor recommended losing weight.
    - The doctor told/advised her to lose weight. (recommend less common)

  2. I like the review. It's very clear - and the format is appropriate for the task.

The main point I would raise is that you have used mainly one-sentence "paragraphs" and you would lose marks for this in the exam. Try to group them together into several longer paragraphs.

Apart from this, there are a couple of little points I would raise: we would say "a little small" rather than "a bit little". Also "There weren't many waiters" rather than "There were few waiters" and "the small number of waiters" rather than "the little number ...."

I think I would change the word order to, "As a starter, I tried a (not an) house special..."

"the best .....in (not of)the restaurant.
NB the money sign comes BEFORE the amount, i.e.£35 rather than 35£ (Sorry, I can't find my euros symbol!!!)

Otherwise a good review - and one where you can almost imagine being there!
