Young people and health
It is well known that, despite the more wealthy lifestyle, nowaday teenagers don’t seem to be in better health than the former generations used to be.
It is well known that, despite the more wealthy lifestyle, nowaday teenagers don’t seem to be in better health than the former generations used to be.
Within less than thirty years, a sedentary lifestyle has taken the place of the active one of our parents’, while the frugal meals of some decades ago have been giving way to so plentiful ones that put even in serious danger our health.
Moreover, young people often prefer fast to slow food, tending to intake an excessive amount of fats and carbohydrates, and the hours a day they dedicate to a sport (supposing they practice one) are too few: this attitude undeniably affects their health, most of the times threatened by smoke and alcoholics too.
On the other hand, it would be a mistake to put the utter blame on young people: they are often compelled to have a sedentary lifestyle and the hurry they are often in prevent them from paying the right attention on what they eat.
Obviously, no one is claiming teenagers don’t lack will sometimes, but before complaining on their lifestyle, we should consider the reasons why they behave in such a way.
Silvia, that was a nice piece of work .. well-structered with a good range of vocabulary
